Colombian group three times nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards, in the following categories: Best Folk Album with the albums Quintet with voice (2020) and Pa' que más, Colombian Andean music (2017) and Best Tango Album with the album Bogotá - Buenos Aires (2015).
The quintet interprets the most representative styles of tango and the new proposals of Colombian music. The group is formed since 2011 by Bogota musicians with extensive experience in various musical genres: Alberto Tamayo (Piano), Daniel Plazas (violin), Andrés Almanza (double bass), Francisco Avellaneda (Guitar) and Giovanni Parra (Bandoneon and direction)
The quintet Leopoldo Federico has participated in various festivals of tango, jazz and Colombian music in the main concert halls of Colombia, United States, Spain and France.
The quintet has been the winner of stimuli and scholarships to promote art and music such as the Chamber Groups Award of the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra, Circulation through Bogotá and International Circulation of the District Institute of Arts and National Circulation of the Ministry of Culture.
